The neck is really starting to come together. The fingerboard is a beautifully figured piece of Madagascar rosewood. It’s going to look amazing when it’s done.

Neck Work
Some more progress on the neck. The headstock has been routed to thickness and the tuner holes drilled, and the neck has been drilled and routed for the truss rod.
Body Taking Shape
Shin has started working on the body. He has rounded the edges, added a mild contour on the front and back, routed the neck pocket and added the mounting holes for the neck.
Construction begins
Work is now underway on my new Signature model guitar. The work is being done by Shin Ichikawa, luthier extraordinaire, professional beer drinker and sometimes skateboarder. I’m hoping it will be finished by the end of 2013 or the beginning of 2014. Can’t wait!
Red Sparklecaster
This showed up on my doorstep last week. I ordered it some years ago when I was very much into Tele’s. This is a Dikkers Sparklecaster, although somewhat unique in that it has a chambered mahogany body with a maple top, and a Lollar Charlie Christian pickup at the neck. It sounds great!
Body design
Here is the outline and template for the body of my new signature model guitar. Really getting excited about this project.
Spider on the 175
This is my friend Spider Tetsu checking out my 1950 ES-175 shortly after I got it. For some reason it sounds better when he plays it!
